The course focuses on the molecular, cellular and physiological mechanisms, pathology, diagnosis and treatment of common cardiometabolic and infectious diseases, including global aspects. Relevant molecular biology technologies used within translational research in the field of these diseases are reviewed.

About the course

The course is held on campus with full-time teaching (100%) and lasts for 11 weeks. Full-time teaching corresponds to 40 hours of study per week.

The course starts on Monday 3rd November 2025 and runs until Friday 16th January 2026. The first day of the Christmas self-study period is Monday 22nd December and the last day is Tuesday 6th January 2026. The roll call is on Monday 3rd November, 09:30 - 12:00, KI Solna campus. The final examination is planned on Jan. 7, 2026 (8:15 - 12:15) in the form of digital exam at Skrivsal BZ, KI Solna Campus. Final mandatory Oral presentations are planned for Jan. 12-13, 2026. Both current student and those who wish for take re-exam need to register yourself in Ladok which will be open in December. The re-exam for the HT24 course is planned on March 11, 2025 (8:15-12:15) and some time in June. Need Ladok registration.
